Car Maintenance Tools

Having good tools to work on your car is fundamental. You can find tools in a lot of places but it's prominent that you know what you really need in order to buy the right tools.

These are the tools that you should really have and those that you might want but can live without:

  • Screwdrivers. The capability of your screwdrivers is prominent if you're going to use them more then few times. Bad screwdrivers will have their tips worn out after few screws. Make sure to buy screwdrivers with magnetic tips, this will make it potential to work on screws in inconvenient locations.

  • Work Light with Hook, whatever model you like. The prominent is that it has a hook so you can use it both working on the machine and under the car.

  • Extension Cord. The tool cord is always short, always. Get an postponement cord, there won't be a single time you don't use it.

  • 2 Jack Stands, these are prominent for your own protection while working under the car.

  • C-Clamp. You need one of these to work on brakes and it often comes handy for other stuff.

  • Service Jack. This is not really considerable but makes things a lot easier. If you're often working with your car lifted then you really need one of these. Jacking your car up will be easier and faster.

  • Wrench set

  • Pliers

  • Hand Cleaner Wipes

  • Nutdrivers set. This really depends on what you do on your car and on what car you own. You won't be able to work on some nuts with appropriate wrenches.

  • Heavy Duty Cleaner

You can really find tool cases. These cases usually include a lot of pieces and special tools that you can use with some tips and sockets. If you don't need something single you could consider buying one of these, just don't go with the cheapest choice (low capability tools last less than you imagine) but there's no need to spend too much.

If you don't like your carport to look like a mechanic shop you might consider buying a tool cart so that you'll be able to keep your carport in order.

Another thing I propose you to have is sawdust in order to dry oil stains.
